FORD CEO Jim Farley announced at the Detroit Auto Show on the 9th that despite the fierce competition in the Chinese market, the company's business in China still made about $600 million last year.
After introducing the special edition Ford Mustang GTD, Jim Farley announced the good news: "I am very happy to announce that Ford is making money in the Chinese market. I am very proud of this because not many automakers can say that."
Jim Farley said that these revenues include vehicles such as the export of Nautilus by Ford's luxury brand Lincoln. This car is a mid-size crossover SUV. In 2024, the Canadian production base will be transferred to the Ford Hangzhou Assembly Plant of Changan in China, and then "reverse import" to the United States and sold to other markets.
Ford did not disclose revenue in other regions, but Jim Farley had previously been proud of the company's growing "light asset" strategy in China.
